The Skunk strain is a very old favourite which has been amazing the cannabis community for over 40 years, it is now available from Sensi in a user-friendly feminised variety.
This strain is most famous for its reliability and the fact that it has been used as the base for hundreds of other modern, and very popular, strains. It is also renowned for its potency, the term Skunk is often used to simply describe some of the more powerful cannabis strains.
Using feminisation on this strain has enhanced its uniformity meaning that breeders and growers can rely on their crops maintaining a certainly level of quality and yield. This is being called 'the finest example of feminised Skunk#1 that we've ever seen!' by Sensi Seeds.
This strain is a vigorous grower with a heavy yield, the flowering formation appears to be that of a mostly Indica strain although with a little more height to it than an average Indica strain.
Skunk#1 feminised utilises its thick branches in order to support the sheer volume of its yield. There are some subtle Sativa influences which affect the structure of its flowering as well as the bodily effect, a cerebral and light high with a strong and potent Skunk style stone.
Feminising seeds has been popular for a long time now and was first explored by the Dutch Passion seed company. For many growers male plants have absolutely no use in a crop and simply waste precious space, time and money.
They take up space which could otherwise be used my productive females and often have to be removed at the beginning of the flowering period which is simply another headache for the grower.
Feminised seeds also save a considerable amount of money as growers need no longer buy twice as many seeds as the number of females that they wish to grow.
As previously mentioned the level of uniformity is also far more impressive with feminised seeds meaning that there are few surprises in each crop.
For experienced breeders feminised seeds are also the most sensible breeding option as it is possible to convince a female to produce the same pollen as the male.
This is certainly a far more complex method of breeding but the resulting seeds are likely to be higher in uniformity and in quality.
Skunk #1 should be grown in a temperate or Continental climate in order for it to thrive. In these environments it will grow to an average height and produce a large yield. The strain is 35% Sativa and 65% Indica, it has a short flowering time of just 45 - 50 days.
